If the vehicle has a front camera, factory amplifiers, or unusual media equipment, test those functions as well.

Then cycle the ignition fully. Some issues only appear after the vehicle powers down and restarts. Verify that the module wakes correctly and that the original system does not remain on an incorrect source or display state.

When to Stop and Request Specialist Support

Installer support is most valuable before an assumption becomes a fault. Stop work if the supplied harness does not match the vehicle, the factory unit has a different connector arrangement than expected, the display remains blank after verified connections, or the car develops warnings that were not present during the initial check.

Do not bypass vehicle systems, cut original harnesses to make a connector fit, or attempt software changes outside the product’s documented process. Those actions may create faults that are difficult to diagnose later and can reduce the value of an otherwise reversible upgrade.
